Walk with a local guide (Hispanophone) from Santa Cruz to San Marcos on the west banks of the lake, on a route that runs through roads that cross several villages allowing you to have magnificent views of the lake and its three volcanoes, Atitlán, Toliman and San Pedro. From San Marcos (or from the village before, depending on your desire), you can take a mototaxi (a "tuctuc") to go to San Juan Atitlán and take a walk in the village. Transfer (1h15 by car). Visit of the Chichicastenango market, the most colorful and lively in the country. The city is famous for the colors of its market, but also for the religious syncretism that can be observed. You can perhaps observe the missa and walk in the colored cemetery. For the people of "Chichi", the cemetery is a favorable place to communicate with supernatural beings. In the afternoon, I walk west, through the Guatemalan plateau. In the morning, visit the market of San Francisco El Alto, the largest Indian market in Central America (also with sales of animals at the top). You can also discover the Mayan altars still active today, in front of the village entrance. Then, move to Georginas sources. On the way, visit the church of San Andrès Xecul, with all its colors. Bath at the thermal baths of the Georginas springs on the side of the Zunil volcano, located in an altitude jungle. Afterwards, transfer to Quetzaltenango and overnight in the city.Hotel: Modelo 2*
